Ministry Update Sept. 2012

New Teammates for the Year

Having school-aged children and working for the campus ministry, we think of a new year starting in September. This year we welcome to our team Rob and David. Both are here for a year.

David will be helping us in animation and video production, and Rob is a graphic designer. Rob and his wife are on staff, and David is here as part of the YearOne internship program we have here at Lake Hart for recent college graduates who want to use their degrees in ministry.

There are twelve women and men participating in YearOne, and their staff leaders have three major dreams for them: that they would learn to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, they would grow in adulthood, and experience grace and truth in community. Last year’s Year One program also had 12 interns, and that resulted in eight new missionaries! One is Micah, who after interning with our team for two years, went through new staff training this summer and is raising support to join our team full time.

I’ve loved this year. I thank God for all that you do. I am so very grateful for the ways God has used this year in my life. I would rather not leave, but I know God has incredible plans for all of us.”
–From last year’s end-of-year survey

New School Year!

Elijah and Mikayla started 1st and 2nd grade last month, respectively. They seem to be adjusting well to new teachers and friends. Heather volunteers in both of their classrooms once a week. She loves the chance to get to know the other kids, and see what the atmosphere in the classroom is like.
