November Ministry Update 2012

Jesus Film Media App

You might be familiar with the phrase, “there’s an app for that” (meaning you can find a program for your smartphone that will do what you want it to do). Today’s students use mobile devices as a major means of socializing, research, and entertainment.

At the heart of Cru is the desire to give the ministry away, to make resources that have been developed available to anyone. This month, the JESUS film (a Cru ministry) launches an app called “Jesus Film Media.” It offers the full-length JESUS film and other follow-up and short films in every language they’re already available in. Going on a international trip? Get it on your smartphone or tablet, download a local dialect and share it from your phone! Show friends a short video that will prompt conversation about spiritual issues! On a plane with a strangers? Show them a short clip! We pray this would be a tool used often to share the gospel worldwide. It’s available for Apple and Android devices.

You can learn more about the app at: http://jesusfilmmedia.org/

We recently heard an example of how God is using the medium of video to reveal truth, and draw people to himself. In northern India, a series of short follow-up videos have been made of what it means to be a follower of Christ (also available on the app). People have been watching these after seeing the JESUS film and there has been a 50% response rate of those viewers giving their lives to Christ.
