My latest piece. Wanted to capture an interesting face full of life and wisdom. Had my husband sneak a few photos of his parents when we visited at Christmas. This is my father-in-law. He is a wonderful man. Full of curiosity, able to fix just about anything, coming up with his own solutions, and known to several generations as Feri bácsi, which translates uncle frank.
here are a few images that show my process.
First comes a picture, then draw rough outline, fill in with layers of tissue paper and glue. Let it dry, add in layers of oil pastel, then a layer of wax on top. You might notice I first had his hands in the phot but they didn’t look like I’d gotten the proportions right, so covered them up. enjoy.
