Short-Term Mission Trips
Have you ever found yourself staring out a plane window as you approach a destination you’ve never seen? Would you like to see how God could use you, use your family, your church small group, to impact others with the good news of the gospel? For me, summer brings to mind short-term mission trips. Hundreds of college students have just arrived at destinations across the U.S. and around the world to see how God might use them.
The JESUS Film Project offers a number of short-term missions opportunities all year long, all over the world. Have a heart for a particular place? Want to be stretched? Check out what they have to offer and pray; perhaps God would use you and others from your church to go! www.jesusfilmmissiontrips.org
When I first started to learn about God, heaven, Jesus, and his love for us, I embraced it. It made sense to my young heart, and answered questions I had. In college I loved reading books like “A Ready Defense” by Josh McDowell. They were a source of encouragement to my faith. A month ago, after reading a passage in Genesis together, our daughter, Mikayla, asked, “How do we know the God of the Bible is the true God?” I’m excited to help her explore that question and others like it, as I think it will help strengthen her faith. I found that author Lee Strobel, who wrote several apologetic books, wrote three geared for kids. We have started going through them as a family, and I’d recommend them for yours! Case for a Creator for Kids, Case for Faith for Kids, Case for Christ for Kids.
- Safety as we drive next month to visit family in NY and Michigan.
- Kids are on summer vacation; for their summer to be a time of learning, too.
- Please pray for David’s extended family. His cousin’s wife passed away from cancer; she leaves a husband and four kids behind.
- A recent film shoot went well; now the short (on the subject of shame) is in the editing and scoring stage.
