Film School Training Wraps Up
“I have trained 15 people on how to use short films and how to ask questions. People initially weren’t interested in using ‘non-spiritual’ material but I was able to show them that Jesus Himself used stories to engage people in spiritual conversations. Having made the connection, they became excited to use it and take it to others.”
A year ago, 18 men and women from 5 different countries in the Middle East started a journey. They gathered together every 3 months for intensive training on making and using short films in ministry. God is using them in powerful ways to bring the gospel in predominantly Muslim settings. Leaders have shared with us that they think that using short films and social media with it is a key way to reach the masses who have never heard the gospel.
“My son is 15 years old and his friends are known for always being negative about spiritual conversations and the gospel. After I learned how to use films in ministry in the film school, I asked my son to invite his friends to watch a film that I produced. I got some gifts and snacks to make sure they would enjoy the time. To my surprise, three of my kid’s friends came and they didn’t care about the gifts or the snacks. We watched a couple of films and they were very engaged in the conversations about the films. The theme of one film was trust and they starting sharing stories from their lives about trusting others. That opened up the conversation for me to share about trusting Jesus. My son’s friends were happy to pray and to trust Jesus with their lives. They were very excited to join the film club that I will start which will give me great opportunities to help them grow in their faith.”
